What Are Dentures and Partial Dentures?

Dentures are custom-made removable appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue. Full dentures replace an entire arch (upper or lower) when all teeth are missing. Partial dentures fill in gaps when some natural teeth remain, attaching to adjacent teeth with precision clasps or connectors for a secure fit.

Modern dentures are crafted from high-quality acrylic and sometimes reinforced with metal or flexible materials for added durability and comfort. They restore your ability to chew a wider variety of foods, speak clearly, and smile with confidence — improving both function and quality of life.

Benefits of Dentures and Partial Dentures

Confidence

Full smile restoration that looks natural.

Better Chewing

Eat more comfortably and nutritiously.

Clear Speech

Proper enunciation with teeth.

Affordable

More economical than implants.

  • Custom fit — molds and impressions ensure a comfortable, secure fit
  • Facial support — restores natural cheek and lip contours
  • Prevents remaining teeth from shifting (partial dentures)
  • Quick turnaround — typically 4–6 weeks from impression to delivery

What to Expect — Denture Process

  1. Comprehensive exam and consultation to assess oral health and discuss tooth replacement options.
  2. Digital or traditional impressions taken for precise fit.
  3. Try-in appointment — wax model fitted to check appearance and bite alignment before final fabrication.
  4. Final dentures delivered and adjusted for comfort.
  5. Follow-up visits to fine-tune fit as gums and bone heal and change shape over time.

How to Care for Your Dentures

  • Remove and rinse dentures after eating to remove food debris.
  • Brush dentures daily with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive denture cleaner.
  • Soak overnight in denture solution or water to keep them moist and prevent warping.
  • Handle with care — hold over a towel or water basin if dropped.
  • Clean your gums, tongue, and any remaining teeth daily.
  • Visit your dentist for annual checkups to evaluate fit and reline if needed.
  • Replace dentures every 5–7 years or as your dentist recommends.
